We’re glad that you are joining us to help make sure our government is genuinely
by the people.
Becoming a member involves two commitments:
1. Spending one hour of your time a year to study out an issue and offer your opinion
on it. Unlike other political organizations, we contribute our good judgment
on the issues of the day, not just our dollars. As a member you will be randomly
assigned to study one issue each year. The organization will provide you with briefing
materials on the issue. These materials will take one hour to review. After reviewing
the materials, you will share your opinion about what should be done on the issue.
All of this will happen via email and online during the legislative session, typically
in late January and February.
2. Voting in the primary and general elections. Of course, to have influence
we all need to vote. And we need to vote in the primary elections, not just the
generals because special interests and those with extreme conservative or liberal
agendas take advantage of low voter turnout in primaries to exert disproportional
influence
